Cannabis Vape Leader Smoore Sued for Alleged Monopoly Practices

News 19-June 1

Shenzhen Smoore Technology, known for its cannabis vapes under the CCELL brand, is currently facing a lawsuit alleging that it has established an illegal monopoly in the vape industry. The lawsuit was filed by U.S.-based vape maker Next Level Ventures earlier this month.

Countersuit Filed by Next Level Ventures

Next Level Ventures has filed a countersuit against Smoore, accusing the company of taking actions to stifle competition. The countersuit is a response to Smoore’s 2021 lawsuit against several U.S. vape makers for patent infringement, which resulted in most of those companies either settling or going out of business.

Allegations of Fraud and Monopolistic Practices

Next Level Ventures claims that Smoore’s intellectual property related to vaporizers was up for sale before the company filed for patents. They have also accused Smoore of fraudulently obtaining one patent and of targeting competitors as a strategy to cope with falling sales.

Seeking Dismissal and Damages

In their countersuit, Next Level Ventures has requested that all claims against them be dismissed. Additionally, they are seeking damages related to the litigation, arguing that Smoore’s actions have caused significant harm to their business.

The ongoing legal battle between Shenzhen Smoore Technology and Next Level Ventures highlights the competitive and sometimes contentious nature of the vape industry. The outcome of this case could have significant implications for both companies and the broader market.
