CBP Officers Seize Over $835,000 in Cannabis Hidden in Auto Parts Shipment
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers intercepted more than $835,000 worth of marijuana concealed in a shipment of auto parts.

On Monday, July 29, officers at the World Trade Bridge directed a tractor-trailer carrying auto parts for secondary inspection. Using non-intrusive inspection methods and CBP canines, officers uncovered 16 packages containing over 373 pounds of alleged marijuana hidden within the shipment. The street value of the seized narcotics is estimated at $835,875.

“Frontline officers at the World Trade Bridge demonstrated exceptional effort in successfully disrupting this drug smuggling attempt,” stated Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. “This drug bust is a prime example of efficient targeting strategies utilized in the cargo environment to help combat the flow of narcotics seeping into our communities.”
