The Cannabist Co. and Old Pal Expand Partnership With Launch Into West Virginia’s Medical Cannabis Market
CHELMSFORD, Mass. — The Cannabist Co., one of the nation’s most established cannabis cultivators, manufacturers and retailers, announced today that it is expanding its partnership with Old Pal, the well-known cannabis brand celebrated for its simplicity, quality and value. The collaboration now extends to West Virginia, marking a key milestone as Old Pal introduces its flower products to the state’s medical cannabis market for the first time.
The launch deepens a multiyear partnership that has already seen success across Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Colorado, where Old Pal products have been well-received by patients and adult-use consumers alike.
Old Pal Flower Products Make Their Debut in West Virginia
Beginning Nov. 26, medical cannabis patients in West Virginia can purchase a range of Old Pal flower offerings at all Cannabist Co. dispensaries statewide. The lineup includes:
- Ground flower: 7-gram and 14-gram options
- Whole flower: 3.5-gram and 7-gram varieties
All products are cultivated and produced by The Cannabist Co. in its state-of-the-art West Virginia cultivation and manufacturing facilities. Wholesale distribution to third-party dispensaries is expected to expand in December.
The expansion underscores the strong patient demand for high-quality, reliable flower products—demand that Old Pal and The Cannabist Co. have consistently met in multiple markets.
A Growing Partnership Rooted in Quality, Value and Consistency
Old Pal first joined forces with The Cannabist Co. in 2023 with product launches in Maryland and Virginia. Since then, the partnership has expanded steadily, adding New Jersey in early 2024 and Colorado later that year. West Virginia now becomes the fifth market in which the companies collaborate.
“The addition of Old Pal to our shelves in West Virginia gives patients another flower option they can count on,” said Jesse Channon, President of The Cannabist Co. “This expansion builds on a partnership that continues to deliver what our customers look for across our markets: trust, value and consistency.”
Old Pal leaders echoed the sentiment, highlighting the shared mission to make quality cannabis accessible.
“Old Pal started with the belief that quality cannabis should be accessible,” said Rusty Wilenkin, co-founder and CEO of Old Pal. “We’ve grown across the country by sticking to what we do best: offering consistent, high quality cannabis at friendly prices. We’re excited to continue our partnership with The Cannabist Company, now in West Virginia, and look forward to introducing Old Pal to even more patients.”
The Cannabist Co. Expands Support for Patients in West Virginia
The Cannabist Co. currently operates 38,069 square feet of cultivation and manufacturing space in West Virginia, enabling the company to support a wide portfolio of in-house and partner brands. Its vertically integrated approach ensures that Old Pal products meet the same high standards associated with all Cannabist Co. offerings across the country.
With this expansion, the company strengthens its role as a leading provider of medical cannabis in the state and reinforces its commitment to delivering reliable products rooted in quality, consistency and value.
