Successful Debut: Hemp Fest Attracts a Big Crowd

Garrison Hemp Fest Showcases Cannabis Culture and Community

The first-ever Garrison Hemp Fest was hailed as a success by organizers, as more than 500 attendees gathered at Jake Regan Park in Garrison on August 10. The event, designed to celebrate and support the growing cannabis and hemp industries in Minnesota, offered a full day of activities, education, and community engagement.

Luke McCapes, one of the festival’s organizers, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the positive response from participants. “It was definitely a good turnout; it was very good,” McCapes said. “A lot of good feedback from everybody. In general, a lot of people were just saying thanks for bringing it to the Garrison area so that people could learn.”

Festival Highlights: Vendors, Education, and Community

Garrison Hemp Fest featured a diverse lineup of local and regional cannabis vendors, showcasing a variety of products and services. The event also included educational speakers who provided insights into the cannabis and hemp industries, helping to inform and educate the public about the benefits and uses of these plants.

The festival atmosphere was enhanced by local art displays and live music, creating a vibrant community event that catered to all ages. In addition to the activities at Jake Regan Park, a hemp pancake breakfast fundraiser was hosted by the Garrison Veterans of Foreign Wars post, located just across the street. This added a unique culinary twist to the festival, further highlighting the versatility of hemp as an ingredient.

Looking to the Future: Plans for Expansion

Given the success of the inaugural event, McCapes is optimistic about the future of Garrison Hemp Fest. With the positive feedback from both attendees and vendors, he is considering organizing similar events in the future to continue promoting cannabis education and community involvement in the region. “A lot of good comments about the educators,” McCapes noted, emphasizing the importance of the educational component of the festival.

As Minnesota’s cannabis industry continues to grow, events like Garrison Hemp Fest play a crucial role in fostering community support and raising awareness about the potential benefits of cannabis and hemp.
