Court Reveals Rapper Began Cannabis Use at Age 12
UK Rapper Digga D Admits to Cannabis Smuggling, Defends Use for Migraines
UK rapper Rhys Herbert, known as Digga D, testified in court that he has been using cannabis since the age of 12 to help with his frequent migraines. Herbert admitted to smuggling 3kg of cannabis and supplying the drug to others, but denied importing larger quantities for commercial sale. During a trial, the prosecution presented evidence of his involvement in significant drug transactions, while his defense argued that his cannabis use was personal and sporadic. A ruling on his case is expected in January.
Cannabis Use for Migraines and Legal Struggles
Herbert explained in court that his long-term use of cannabis was driven by a need to manage his migraines, describing it as a personal health benefit. Despite this, prosecutors contend that he was involved in commercial drug dealing, pointing to messages and evidence linking him to larger-scale transactions. Herbert, who has earned millions through his music career, denied knowledge of any large importations, calling some of the evidence “fictional.”
Trial Highlights and Future Ruling
The trial, set to conclude in January, will determine the extent of Herbert’s involvement in cannabis distribution. While he admitted to supplying cannabis to others within the music industry and close associates, his defense suggests it was on a small scale for personal use. The court is expected to deliver a ruling on his sentencing in the coming weeks.
